My own favorite lens for Aurora photographing!
Canon EF 16-35mm f / 2.8L II USM features a very bright and sharp lens. The large aperture makes it easier to adjust the sharpness at night and you get down exposure times when you take Aurora images. This means that you do not need to raise the ISO to more than 1600 and the fine movements of the aurora comes with the pictures in a nice way. Certainly the best you can get!
The EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Lens from Canon is a high performance, water-resistant, ultra wide-angle L-series zoom lens. The best wide angle zoom you can get. An f/2.8 maximum aperture is effective in low light situations such as for Aurora photographing and offers shallow depth of field focus control. The optical design has been improved to offer better edge-to-edge image quality. A petal-type lens hood is included.
